During the Pre-migration steps described in the SAS Performance Management Solutions 9.1.3 to 9.2 Migration Guide, there are certain SAS Data Integration Studio jobs that need to be run. For those jobs to run correctly, the metadata for SAS Data Integration Studio needs to be updated.
To apply the changes to the SAS Data Integration Studio metadata, perform the following steps:
1. Shut down SAS® Management Console. 2. Download and copy the sas.smc.updateprototypes.jar (from the Downloads tab) to the SAS Management Console plugins directory (typically located in: C:\Program Files\SASManagementConsole\9.1\plugins) Note: The jar file should be dated no earlier than 11/16/2006 (16 November, 2006). 3. Launch the SAS Management Console client that contains the updated sas.smc.updateprototypes.jar from the previous step. 4. Log into the Foundation repository of your metadata server as the unrestricted user. 5. Go to the Tools menu and select: "Update Metadata for SAS Data Integration Studio" 6. If you see the following message: "The metadata prototypes for SAS Data Integration Studio are up to date. Do you want to skip updating the prototypes and only update Custom trees on this server?" Select No. You want to make sure both the prototypes and the Custom trees are updated.
If you are asked to authenticate when trying to access the SAS Performance Management Solutions 9.1.3 to 9.2 Migration Guide, please contact SAS Technical Support to obtain a valid username and password.
Note: This update process only needs to be done once (per metadata server), but it can be run multiple times without negative impact (in the event the person performing the migration does not know if the update process has been performed).
